Description

Please note: Margaret River Adventure Co. run multiple tours
and are a small family business. Weather changes at different times of the year,
and start times could change from what you have booked. Start times vary for
the Fatbike adventure, but they like to get into the forest before it gets too
hot in summer - at 8:00am or if that time slot isn't available due to another
activity taking the timeslot it will be at 2:00pm.

Arriving in the beautiful Boranup forest site or a coastal
site. The tour will start off by getting to know your Fatbike. It's similar to
a normal mountain bike but with oversized tyres. You will have a safety
demonstration at the meeting point under towering karri trees, and then get on your way with an 14km return
ride through the forest or coast, depending on your desired location. Please
allow 3 hours of moderate riding on undulated sand and gravel terrain.

We glide through a trail, listen with our eyes and watch
with our ears for animals that frequent the area. There is always a chance we
will see native species of animals as we can sneak up on them with the Fat Bike's
silent approach.

In the distance the Indian Ocean focuses into view. This is
where the oversized tyres come into their own, on the soft sand track, until we
hit limestone again. Getting closer to the coast the Amazing Granite formations
of Cape Freycinet appear at this wild and rugged part of the southwest
coastline. We will hop off the bikes and explore the coast.

They use high-quality Specialised Fatboys as their bike of choice for their lightness, quality components, and proven off-road ability. They have special permission from the Department of Parks and Wildlife to ride their bikes in the Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park.
