The Introduction to coasteering tour is a 1 hour in the water experience at a slower pace for anyone wanting to experience the excitement of exploring the coastline without the bigger jumps and more challenging sections on our advanced route. A Totally unique spot on the coastline with a short stroll along the cape-to-cape track to access this beautiful spot.

Coasteering is about getting in the water and experiencing the Indian Ocean up close. You will need to be able to swim and be able to haul yourself out of the water. We'll visit a secluded granite coast area that is both safe and challenging.

We always have lots of question about coasteering. Read the FAQs.

Your coasteering experience starts in the Ngari Marine Park where you'll get fully kitted out in a steamer wetsuit, buoyancy vest, helmet and hybrid coasteering shoes.

Based on your ability, we'll get in the water, and scramble and jump around the rocks as the current surges and ebbs, making our way across the natural canal to where very few people get to on the other side of the granite rocks. Depending on the season, you'll be able to see whales frolicking right out front, or sea lions basking on the rocks.

Coasteering is suitable for all levels of adventure - I'll cater the experience especially for you based on your requirement. My goal is to make it safe and fun for you.

Coasteering Adventure starts 8.30am approx 30 minutes north of Margaret River with the introduction to coasteering tour only 15 minutes north of Margaret River and starting at 12.30pm.

You then have the rest of the day to enjoy the rest of Margaret River!

Pick up and Drop off You'll meet Jaydn at the location. Coasteering meet point is weather dependent. You will be sent the details on the day prior to the tour. Tour Times & Numbers Coasteering Adventure starts 8.30am. In summer they usually do another adventure at 11am as well. You'll be advised if the first tour is fully booked and offered a spot on the second time slot. If your group has booked out all the tour spots (10+), he's pretty flexible with when you want to go. Please call or message Cam on 0418 808 993 or email to discuss. General Coastering Tours are limited to a maximum of 12 people at any one time. This way Jaydn can look after you a whole better and you can receive a great, personalised experience! What to Bring They'll provide wetsuits, lifejackets, and helmets. You need bathers and a towel. You'll also need board shorts or old shorts to wear over the wetsuit. 1. It's an amazing and challenging adventure… Coasteering definitely falls under the try something different category. Have you ever walked to the end of a beach and seen something you want to check out - another beach or a cave - but couldn't get there because of the ocean? Coasteering is the act of reaching these otherwise inaccessible stretches of coastline, such as steep sea cliffs, caves and ledges. It's also immensely enjoyable. You're experiencing the coast in an utterly new way, and you're doing it by jumping, splashing, belly-flopping and floating. 2. It's the only coasteering adventure in Australia! The stunning coastline of Margaret River makes it a perfect venue for coasteering, and we are the only tour company in Australia that does it! We originally saw it in many places around the UK, particularly Cornwall and Wales. No government authority understood what coasteering was, they'd say "you want to do what?!" No other part of Australia can boast such a diversity of marine landscapes; white sandy beaches that shoot up into towering granite sea cliffs, with limestone reefs that channel through to spectacular bays with dramatic rock stacks and sea caves. 3. It's a team activity… Jumping off cliffs? Floating across reef platforms? Anyone could do that by themselves, right? Wrong. It's highly advised to do coasteering as part of an organised tour with someone who knows the local area and the ocean conditions. The Margaret River Adventure Co was instrumental in pioneering coasteering as an outdoor pursuit and it took years to establish our tried-and-tested routes. Experience counts, and a newcomer will never really know what's what. Some of the coast looks harmless enough, but could be dangerous if you are unprepared. Equally, parts may appear daunting, but can easily be climbed - so it's best to go with a guide trained in surf rescue. Coasteering with others not only makes the experience more fun, but also means there are the numbers to help out should anyone get into difficulty. 4. All the gear gives you the right idea A decent coasteering session takes about 2 hours, so you'll want to be warm and safe during the activity. You'll be given a long armed, long legged wetsuit, a life jacket and a helmet to keep you safe. The wetsuit and helmet will stop any rock or reef scratches and stop you donnging your head, whilst the lifejacket will keep you bobbing about like a cork in the surf! 5. It's for everyone Coasteering is an activity for everyone, of every ability. We devise each tour with safety as our outmost priority and will cater to every persons skills. You only need to be able to swim 25m unaided. The rest is in your head.

Don't just take our word for it.
